In 1988 the Detroit Pistons played the Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA finals and at the time I was obsessed with Isaiah Thomas. I obsessively took photos of the TV screen whenever Thomas was on camera with my mom’s Kodak 110 camera.
The film came back and there were scads of photos of the television, but no Thomas.
Unfazed by my first failed attempts at picture-making, I relentlessly pursued making the perfect still image.
I still do.
