Favorite Quotations:
“‘…But why do you say nothing about Aglaia, prince? Aglaia is waiting and so am I.’
‘I can’t say anything at once: I’ll speak later.’
‘Why? I should have thought she couldn’t be overlooked.’
‘Oh, no, she couldn’t. You are exceedingly beautiful, Aglaia Ivanovna. You are so beautiful that one is afraid to look at you.’
‘Is that all? What about her qualities?’ Madame Epanchin persisted.
‘It’s difficult to judge beauty; I am not ready yet. Beauty is a riddle.’” From: The Idiot by Fyodor Dostoevsky

“I don’t think that the crucial difference is that we’re smart and the others are dumb; after all, if we may let this secret out to the world, we’re not all that smart! We are a glorious movement to be sure, but we have hardly achieved perfection. The difference between us and the Democrats and Republicans is not that we are so much smarter than they are, but that we are deeply concerned with ideas, with principles, whereas they are simply concerned with getting their places at the public trough. We are interested in principles, they in power; and, gloriously enough, our principle is that their power be dismantled.”
Murray Rothbard
Libertarian

“Can I be used to help others find truth
When I’m scared I’ll find proof that it’s a lie
Can I be led down a trail dropping bread crumbs
That prove I’m not ready to die
Please give me time to decipher the signs
Please forgive me for time that I’ve wasted
I’m a doubting Thomas
I’ll take your promise
Though I know nothin’s safe
Oh me of little faith” Nickel Creek

“We cannot believe, any more than we can know, without adequate grounds; it is not faith but “credulity” to accord credit to insufficient evidence; and an unreasonable faith is no faith at all.” B.B. Warfield

“There is no wisdom save in truth. Truth is everlasting, but our ideas about truth are changeable. Only a little of the first fruits of wisdom, only a few fragments of the boundless heights, breadths and depths of truth, have I been able to gather.” Martin Luther

“For people swear by something greater than themselves, and in all their disputes an OATH is final for confirmation. So when God desired to show more convincingly to the heirs of the PROMISE the unchangeable character of his purpose, he guaranteed it with an OATH, so that by two unchangeable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled for refuge might have strong encouragement to hold fast to the hope set before us.” Hebrews 6:16-18

About Me:
There is much about a transient lifestyle that appeals to me. I like movement and change. I’ve heard Heraclitus’s call, and I’ve followed. Still, there’s enough of Parmenides under my feet to keep me (when I’m moving) moving toward a goal. I’ve learned that knowledge is perspectival. I’ve also realized that, to make sense of this world, we must arrange what we learn based on the presupposition of a Trinitarian God. The categories of Aristotle and Plato are functionally Unitarian, and, therefore, deficient. All things considered: I’m a pilgrim in a grand drama. I may improvise as I sojourn, but I do so based on a Script. I may know things from a single vantage point, but I do know things and truly. It has taken Postmodernism’s axe laid at the root of the Modern tree for me to see how much truth there was to Premodernism. If I must be labeled, I may best be labeled as a Postconservative.
